Yesterday I finally cut Austin's hair. He's been desperately needing a cut for weeks but we never set it up with Lori, the professional in the family, so finally I had to borrow a friend's clippers and do it myself. I have done it many times before but his hair has never been this long. It was so hard to cut. I started with the scissors, cutting off almost 2 inches all around. It's been so hard to do in the morning for school (serious bed head) that I wanted it cut short. I had no idea how much hair he had on his head! Just like his dad! Too bad the balding gene isn't passed through that line b/c Austin would have no reason to worry about losing his hair. This is what was in the sink when I was done:
Well I put a #4 on the clippers and started on the side, above the ear, and it cut his hair right close to the scalp. I don't remember a #4 being that short but I realized this cut is going to be VERY short cut now! So I went for it, all over his head. It almost looked like a buzz to me, but maybe it's just because I am used to it being so long. I left it a little longer on top, just in front really, and tried to get rid of any lines. It's not a great haircut... but it will do. Just as long as he doesn't have people asking him with pity, "Did your Mom cut your hair, Honey?" I will be ok. He seems to like it. He looked in the mirror when I finished and said, "Yeah, I'm good with that." I thought it was so funny.

That is so cute. I really don't even have the confidence to cut Joshy's hair and he's 2. I trim it that's probably why he is still has a baby looking hair cut.

I think his hair cut looks great! You did a good job and it doesn't look like a "mom" cut it. (You should have seen Zane's hair last month. I had cut it in a rush the night before we went to Asia. When we got home two weeks later, I was SO embarassed that he had been walking around in public!)
I think you did a great job. I have felt, did you mom cut your hair? comment before with my girls. They have had simple cuts from me that have created uneven edges. It's shameful, but it could be worse. In Tess' case it is.
