Wow, I am so happy that we have SNOW!!! I love that it arrived on the 1st day of December too. The kids were so excited. They woke me up (Grrr) and said "Look outside, MOM!" They had to go right out and play. Well, I tried to make them eat breakfast first (my subtle way of procrastinating) but it didn't work. I started pancakes and they were out the door. I at least got boots and gloves on Olivia and Austin but in my cooking distraction I didn't see Ashley go out too.
Next thing I know, I look out the back window and there she is on the back deck with Austin wearing NO coat, gloves or boots! She had on mismatched shoes of Olivia's (5 sizes too big) and was dragging her feet through the snow. She is resilient, I will give her that much. She was just walking around like nothing was out of the ordinary.
She wasn't even cold or whining. Mom and I ran out and got a coat on her. I also grabbed my camera to take photos. (Pause to get the pancakes off the stove) By the time I got back out there, Ashley was walking through the backyard, knee-deep in the snow!
I was calling to her (since I had no boots on myself) to come back in when she said "Shoes! Shoes!" and I realized that she was now walking in her socks and Olivia's shoes had come off. She is such a crazy girl. They all had a good time and about 7 minutes later came inside for warm pancakes and hot chocolate. Yum. Gotta love winter.

Don't you wish you could go back to the days when all you cared about was playing in the snow, not frozen fingers and toes or even wearing coats? That is so funny about Ashley--she's a tough little cookie. My kids were the same way on Saturday--couldn't wait to get out the door!
I'm looking forward to the change from this hot/humid weather. The kids look like they are having so much fun.
I can't wait to see all of you soon. Miss you heaps.

I was just reading Lindy's blog about the snow out there. Hopefully some of that will come east. My boys are dying to play in the snow!
They must have been so thrilled after 2 years of no snow! How exciting. That's funny they only lasted 7 minutes, my kids were out there all day.
wow what a contrast from outside over here...I think snow is fun, maybe they just need getting used to it again.
