The funniest thing happened the other day. Austin lost his tooth at school. Now that might not seem so strange... but when he left home his tooth was not loose. At all.
Apparently he opened one of his containers in his lunch box using his teeth. After that, he told his teacher that his bottom tooth was loose. Well she didn't think anything of it and they took off for swimming after lunch. They ride buses over to Somerset for swimming lessons, it's part of their physical education for this term.
As they were leaving the swimming pool and walking back to the bus, he shouted, "Mrs. Tomasen, my tooth fell out! I lost it!" She said they quickly tried to find it on the cement steps, but the whole class was expected back at the bus by that time and they couldn't keep looking. That was Thursday. Austin was sad he lost it so he wrote a letter to the tooth fairy explaining what happened, in his own words, it was pretty cute. What a kind tooth fairy- she brought him a $2 coin even though his tooth was lost.
Fast forward to Monday.
They went to swimming again on Monday and humorously Mrs. Tomasen told the kids to look out for Austin's lost tooth. So all the little first graders looked around the steps as they walked to the pool, and guess what?! One of the kids found Austin's tooth, 4 days later! How funny is that? It's the tiniest tooth you have ever seen too. It looks like a small pebble. We couldn't believe that someone actually found it.
His teacher sent home this cute "tooth fairy voucher" with the tooth taped onto it. Austin was so pleased and even tried to put it under his pillow again. We had to explain that he'd already cashed that one in, and the tooth fairy would know if he tried again.

It's rather crazy that his tooth wasn't loose when he left for school that morning. Is he trying to earn money? Ha.
I think it's funny that he tried to put the tooth under his pillow to get more money. :D
This may sound weird, but what do you do with Austin's teeth after the "tooth fairy" swaps them for cash? Harrison hasn't lost any teeth yet, but I am starting to wonder what I will do with them once that time comes. Toss them? (sounds harsh!) Keep the teeth? Scrapbook them?(sounds kind of gross.) What do you do?
