Shameless plug

Sorry for subjecting you to the dark side on Friday. It was a bad day, heretofore known as "Black Friday". Hopefully we will not go there again! The weekend has been much better since Jared got home on Saturday (Yeah!), it was Father's Day on Sunday (photos to come), and we made a final decision about our future (Woo hoo!). It feels good to know we can move ahead now, but there is still news to be delivered to family so I can't write about it yet. Anyway, on to my post...

One of my favorite shows, Rove Live, calls its blatant promos, "Shameless Plugs". You know when they have a celebrity on the show and they plug the book, movie, musical, whatever... Well today I am doing a shameless plug for these cool products I just discovered.

This is one for soup and salad that stacks on top of each other. How clever!

They are called Fit&Fresh. I think they are great. Don't worry, they are made in USA (of course!) Some of the photos didn't come over that great so check out the website if you are interested.

Anyway, I am all for anything that makes eating healthy easier and more convenient, because as we all know, it's not. You have to be determined. You have to be prepared. You have to do more work. You might even have to chop veggies yourself (gasp) or prepackage good foods yourself in little baggies or containers, or put an apple or a granola bar in your bag for when the hunger hits.

They all have little built-in ice blocks in the lids so that the foods stay fresh and cool. They have some other products like salad shakers and even have recipes on their website (wow, can I be a spokesperson?) I love recipes! Just thought some of you might be interested in checking it out. I love the little ones for kids' snacks and I definitely want to get the lunch box for my husband (yes, you Jared!) so that I can pack him something delicious and healthy for lunch. He loves to use the excuse that he doesn't know what to take for lunch and he is 'forced against his will' to get something unhealthy from the food court in his building. I figure if I get him a nice lunch box and pack it full of yummy things he won't have that excuse anymore, right? Now what do I do when he goes out of town for 10 days? He is left to his own devices (scary).

Below is the lunch box I want to get for Jared. The lid has an ice block that clicks in. then there is a layer below with two small square containers and below that is room for a sandwich on the bottom. Is anyone else enamored with the idea of making an organized lunch? Ok, maybe it's just me...

You're cracking me up with your new love of tupperware, but I can definitely see the appeal.

Congrats on making a big life decision, that's always a relief!

It must be nice to have the decision behind you. I am hoping to get an update when we see your parents today.

That tupperware really is a cool idea. And yes, I find it very hard to eat healthy because of the prep and how you have to be prepared.

Neat lunch organization ideas - I will have to look into that! Jill and other bloggers tease me because my kids love to eat things like hummus, carrot sticks, and salad. It's how I raised them though. Especially with having working mother guilt, I am even more so determined to have them eat healthy!!

Yeah! I can't wait to hear the news! (Andy thinks you should move to PA, but he thinks everyone should live here.)
As for the lunch, I really like these ideas. Harrison doesn't have lunch at school until first grade. But they have the menus online and they look nasty! He will definitely be a lunch packer.

Will jared really carry that thing?
You are to be commended! I love it that you eat healthy and see that your family does too. I'm also glad you inform all of us about these new ideas, recipes, and books.
