Boycott

The empty popcorn bowl at Kristy's scrap night.

So if you hadn't noticed, I have sort of been boycotting my blog this week. Something about the whole experience has made me want to stay FAR from blogger and the computer in general. Usually I have a love affair with my computer. It took me days to get over the whole thing but the lunch with Diane on Friday was pretty good. We didn't talk about the 'incident' but we chatted and I think it was just a formality, like we were both saying, "Let's forget it". It's ok.

Jared has been gone since Tuesday and won't be back until next Wed. He is in Coffs Harbor. A few days ago I was ready to get in the car and drive down for the weekend. I was so sick of being home alone with kids. But we've been to Coffs and it's not worth paying for it again. I am hoping we can go on a little family vacation next month or at the end of this month during school holidays. We will have two weeks off for Spring break. I know Jared has to go away the last week of the month and my appt in Sydney at the consulate is on Oct 4th so it probably won't work out. We'll see.

(Photo taken on my run, Saturday morning)- The water was the most beautiful shade of aquamarine- wish my camera could catch it as the sun shone through the back of the wave.

Jared said last night, "You'd better start packing!" I haven't even thought about it yet. He asked me if I had made a list. I was like, "for what?" He said "you know, Ebay, things to give away, sell, packing, etc." I guess all this hasn't sunk in yet and I've been distracted by the emotional turmoil of the week. So today I did start packing. I cleaned out the kids' closets, laundry room cupboards, sorted clothes they have grown out of, packed away baby blankets and bottles, magazines, etc. He said that if we get this visa for him pretty quickly (like beginning of October) then it's possible me and the kids will come ahead, as we've talked about. If it takes a long time (a few months) we may end up getting roped into Christmas here. I really don't want to do that and can't see it happening, but you never know. The cost would be like double b/c it's prime season. Anything after Dec 7th jumps up hundreds of dollars per ticket. I hate that these visa things are up in the air b/c you have no idea how long it will take to be processed. We're hoping that we're an easy case (obviously married, with kids, real marriage, etc) so they will put it through quickly. Pray for us!

This weekend Katherine had my kids overnight. All three of them. She called me and said she knew it was hard and Jared has been away alot. So she got them Friday at 4pm and brought them back at 3:30 today. It was so strange. I always feel so much pressure to use the time well! Last night I had to make something for church so I did that quickly, then went to a scrapbook night that I didn't think I could go to. It was pretty fun and the popcorn Kristy made was great. It was popcorn, sugar, butter, and honey- tasted like Kettle Corn. Yum. I almost don't want the recipe b/c it's addictive. I went to bed too late (always) then woke up at 5:45! You'd think I would sleep in but I planned to meet Natalie at the beach for a run and somehow my alarm was an hour early. PAINFUL! I didn't bother going back to bed once I figured it out. The run was pretty good anyway and the beach was absolutely gorgeous today. ALMOST makes me want to stay.... but not.

After the run I came home, did the packing, sorted through some other things then had a massage and mini facial. I have decided I LOVE LOVE LOVE these treatments. It makes me so happy. It was only $65 for both, a good deal. I would do it once a month if I could. Katherine gave me some money (against my protests) saying that she "wants to do it because she can and maybe one day I will have to do it for her". She said the kids were great, the boys played well, Ashley went right to sleep at 7pm and woke at 6:30 (after the boys). Courtney and Olivia did their thing- usually hair, makeup, going shopping, and having meetings (like their moms).

Time for bed. I hope Lori's party was fun. I am so glad that you liked the hoodie Lori. It was screaming your name!!! Mine is the same but black. I have worn it so much that I wish I had bought BOTH colors for me. It's so cozy and fits perfectly- just the right length, thickness, etc. Luf it. I told you you would.

I know it was a tough decision for you and Jared to come back, but I sure hope you appreciate the beach in your last few weeks/months before heading back here. How beautiful!!!

why a visa? didn't he get the residency by now?? crazy! You should do that asap and then asap get the citizenship....it is just better, with all these laws and immigration changing lately, you just want to be on board...i think! That foto looks fantastic. Tough decisions...I've had to make some tough ones this last week...and it is just horribly hard sometimes when both parties in this case me and alf were not in the same page! and then extended family is just hard sometimes...but being there for so long, they know who you are, and they also probably know that is a tough decision--but sometimes it hurts more because they are involved indirectly with your departure, but hey we are all emotional girls at one point or another, the trick is knowing and being there at the end

packing already? Wow, that will make it all seem real in a hurry! I'm glad you and Diane are (sort of) back to normal, and I hope the visas come through quickly. So nice of Katherine to take your kids and give you a break!
