We had a great time at Sea World yesterday. Since the kids are off for Easter starting next Monday (the whole state of Queensland at the same time) we decided to go yesterday and avoid the holiday rush. It was the MOST perfect day. The temperature was about 78 degrees and slightly overcast. So we weren't too sweaty and hot. The kids had a blast. There was so much to see and they loved all the animals and rides.
One of our local supermarkets had a coupon on the back of the receipt for half off the price of a season pass. So, instead of paying $65 for adult and $40 child one time entrance, we paid $78 and $50 for unltd. season passes! (Olivia is still free) They have a water park too so we can go enjoy that anytime, as well as all the rides and animals.
We were planning on taking Ashley (she loves the Bjorn snuggly and sleeps the whole time she is in it), but Katherine and Diane offered to bbsit her instead. I was hesitant b/c it was the whole day, but if Ashley didn't cooperate with us it could easily ruin the Sea World day, so I said ok. It turned out that she was fabulous for them. I fed her right before we left at 9:30, she had a bottle while they were at McD's about 1pm, then she slept until we got back about 4pm, at which time I fed her again. What's with that?! I am glad that she did so well, but HELLO, I would have fed her about 6 times during those 7 hours and she only ate a single 4 ounce bottle. I felt a little bitter about that, but at least she was pleasant for them, right? Thanks again to Kate and Diane for helping me out. What would I do without them? Such a blessing.
It was nice to go out and do something fun together as a family. I have felt like Austin and Olivia have been on the back shelf since Ashley came b/c it seems like I am always having to feed her/change her in between all the other stuff going on. I think they really enjoyed having a fun day out (what kid wouldn't?) Also good to spend time with my husband. Unfortunately, he is last on the list these days and it shouldn't necessarily be that way... but hey, my body isn't producing his only source of food and he knows how to wipe himself and these days those things take priority!!!

What a fun day and so great that you could buy season passes. How close is Sea World to where you live? Obviously it's close enough to make passes worth it, but I'd still like to know.
I can't believe Ashley could be apart from you all day and not only be sweet but not eat much either! Oh the humanity. I remember the first time I left Landon with Randy while I went to a movie and came right back (1st time mom) he slept the whole time! I was so mad. He wouldn't have done that if I'd been home.
I'm glad you had fun and got to do something with Jared, Austin and Olivia. Also, I'm glad you posted 2 days in a row.

It's about 20 minutes away, just a little north of us on the coast. They don't have the killer whales there. The main attractions are the sharks (it's the largest man- made shark tank or something like that), the dolphins, seals and sea lions, polar bear and penguins. I think the last two are strange since it's so tropical here, but I guess they adapt well ???
How fun that you got season passes and can go back whenever you like! The beauty of the season pass to anything is that if things don't go well one day you don't feel guilty about spending only a short while there. You can always go back. And how nice that Ashley could spend some time with her grandparents and you could have some freedom to devote your attention to the other members of your family. Sounds like a great day.
It sounds like you are on vacation. I can't believe this is your home. i'm glad you are having a blast in AU. How awesome that you were able to go without ashley. I understand how important that can be. It is so hard to give everyone what they need. I still struggle with that. You are a lucky girl to have such support. don't forget that.
