On Saturday, February 27th, we celebrated Jared, Ashley, and Amy's birthdays at our house. We all gathered for dinner, cake, and presents.
As usual, we barely saw the kids at dinnertime...but as soon as the desserts came out, they were everywhere! We had cheesecake with strawberries, Sparkling Toffee cookies, and ice cream. Licorice left over from Ashley's party was also in the mix- so there was no shortage of tasty, sugary treats to load up on!
Ashley was so excited to open MORE presents for her birthday. Nanny and Granddad (in Australia) sent their gift this past week from Target- a Disney Princess easel and art set which she has just loved. Painting, painting, painting every day. At this party she opened gifts from Jill's family and Adam's family. She got a fancy dress up gown and a Zhu Zhu pet, along with some candy treats. They know this girl well!
Amy received Target gift certificates, iTunes, a new copy of Pride and Prejudice (her favorite movie that got scratched) and some books- White TIger and The Zookeeper's Wife.
Somehow I didn't take a photo of Jared opening his group gift... we all went in on a Samsung Blu-Ray BD player that can stream Netflix, Pandora, Blockbuster, and YouTube. I think he's already gotten a lot of use out of it and we only hooked it up a few days ago!!! It's so addictive! We have loaded up our Instant Queue online and just press "Play" to watch everything on our tv- from the Best of SNL to documentaries on Everest and the Barrier Reef to kids' movies to Grey's Anatomy. It's technology at its finest.

I am so glad you posted about Jared's gift! Our DVD player died just before the move and we have been trying to decide if we wanted to make that 'leap' to blu-ray or not. I think you've helped immensely with that decision!!! Streaming from Netflix sounds awesome!

(Really? A BluRay player can do that? I'm so backwards! I had no idea. Of course he loved it! Brilliant gift idea.)
