When we moved to C.H. we were excited about being closer to my sisters, Jill and Lori. I knew that we'd be alot closer to Jill especially, but it wasn't until we actually moved in and I drove to her house directly from ours that I realized it's only 4 miles! We are practically neighbors! The kids and I were SO excited. I think we had like 10 sleepovers in the first 2 weeks. It seemed like Landon or Whitney was at our house every couple days. So often that I stopped putting the air mattress away and kept it in the linen closet next to Austin's room!
Unfortunately, during this time I was still unpacking and organizing my house, so I failed miserably at adequately documenting these sleepovers. However, I did manage to take one photo of Whitney and Olivia eating breakfast (before I sold the free kitchen table on KSL- wahoo! I am happy to say that it no longer exists... in my sphere anyway).
Not only did we enjoy sleepovers and playdates with Landon and Whitney, but my kids also got to spend one full day every week at Jill's as she helped me out every Monday for the last month before school started. It was SO unbelievably kind and giving of her (she has a real talent and gift for service). It made my life so much less stressful on those full days when I worked 10-6. She took them to the pool with her, worked around presidency meetings, endured Ashley's endless potty breaks, etc. (PS Jill we went to the pool today and she only went once and that was at the beginning in the locker room. I think she was just torturing you!)
On top of that, Jill invited Ashley over every time Eva came to play on Wednesdays, and more often lately, as Michelle has been getting ready to go to Paris. Ashley just loves those days. I know that two 3-4 year olds can be very trying on the patience, very loud on the ears, and very tough on the pocketbook as they eat all your food (well maybe not Eva, but Ashley anyway).
We've enjoyed this close proximity so much- and it's just been barely 6 weeks since we moved in. On Friday Game Nights we leave our house at 5:20 and arrive at Jill's before 5:30! And when the night is over, sometimes after 10 or 11, I throw the kids in the car and we're home before they're asleep (usually). Photo below taken at Landon's 11th

I used to make fun of people who had to live close to their family and couldn't live even 30 minutes away, never mind in another state. Now, however, I've realized what a blessing it is. Thanks so much for all your help, Jill. I keep hoping that you won't regret the day we moved 4 miles away from you!!!

I think it is awesome that you live so close to your sister. I bet it is a HUGE help! Trying not to be jealous. :) I wish my family lived a little bit closer.
I feel like this post is mocking us. NO, not really, I'm just jealous you guys get to enjoy such proximity to each other.

It's fun having your family live so much closer. I don't know why we can't convince Adam and Amy of the benefits. I think they're SLC snobs!
