BIZ-E

Inspired by the title of Jenn's blog... this week has been FULL to say the least. Every so often I go through periods in my life (as we all do, I am sure) where I just feel like every day is a blur and I'm just doing the absolute necessities and somehow I get through one week, then the next, etc. Repeat.

That's how I feel right now. I can't even believe that next week is October. I don't know how I got here. Luckily, I haven't missed anything major (that I know of) other than Austin's Scouts yesterday. I didn't even think of it until this afternoon when I was looking in the ward phone book and saw his Scout leader's name and the AHA! moment happened. Ah well, could be worse.

After working every day, I start to do the laundry and clean up the house. I finish at 2pm and the kids get off the bus at 2:30. So it is immediately homework, chore time, piano practice, etc. Usually Ashley has torn apart her room, the play room, and the office during the 4 hours I am working. And that's ok, because she is a happy girl and keeps herself entertained... but you know.

After that it's running errands, going grocery shopping, making phone calls, scheduling parent-teacher conferences (already?), making crafts for Nursery (my new calling at church), etc. Making banana bread for my VT companion who had a baby. Etc. Etc.

Monday is long day at work, 10-6. Ask kids to clean rooms and vacuum. Austin says, "Where's the vacuum?" I realize the vacuum I purchased 5 days ago is still in box in the garage. I ask him to put it together. He gets a screwdriver, pulls out the manual, and voila! That's my boy. Not having to assemble vacuum: Priceless.

On Tuesday at 3:00 I had an interview for a new job (yipee!) then Austin had a football game at 6 pm (he scored a touchdown (yipee!). I went to the running store to exchange some shoes that I was hoping to wear for my marathon (in one week) but won't be wearing anymore since they pinched my feet. Then I booked it to my CPR class in Draper by 6:30.

Wednesday I got out the sewing machine and fixed Olivia's sheet which had a mysterious cut about 4 inches in length near the foot of her bed (hmm, can you say Ashley? Scissors?) It got me a little excited since it's been forever since I worked on a project or sewed at all.

Then I took Austin and friend to football practice, and later went to the Sewing class at my neighbor's house. I'm making this cute dress for Olivia. I hope it turns out nice. I'm excited to learn how to use a pattern!

Thursday I missed Scouts, but made it to my 2nd interview at 4 pm. Got the job (yipee!) and to the CPR class in Draper by 6:30. Oh, and I went grocery shopping in between with 3 kids in tow ("Mom, can I have this? I want Captain Crunch. Can we get ice cream? I want some gum!") I don't know how I left my house at 6:12 and arrived in Draper by 6:30 exactly. Finished class by 10 pm, passed the test (yipee!) and headed home.

Today was my day to exhale! After finishing work and tidying up the house a little, I packed up the kids and we ran a few errands. It was so nice to feel like I didn't have to rush around and work within the tight confines of a rigid schedule. We went to ON to look for something decent for school pictures. Seriously, I wish my kids wore uniforms!! Made photocopies for Nursery stuff. Looked for bench for kitchen table (note to self: check KSL). Picked up Gilead from Jill's then realized I don't need to read it by next Thursday's bookclub b/c I can't go anyway, my cousin's reception is that night.

Girls had a late night with the neighbor's kids so Jared, Austin, and I played cards. It was fun to just have the QT with Austin alone. We played Rummy and Scum. He kept score on post it notes and loved adding points to his total. We indulged him and let him keep score for every round we played in Scum.

I should be in bed by now b/c tomorrow is my last "long" RUN before the St. George marathon next Saturday!!! Only 8 miles (yipee!) Tomorrow afternoon my sisters, Mom, and I are going to see FAME (yipee!) Am I too old or did anyone else watch that TV show when they were younger? I loved it.

Thank you Jill, for the seriously cute personalized stationery.
I can't believe I won the contest! (yipee!)

Oh, and are you wondering what my interview was for?
Do you want to know what my new job is?

That is so cool that you are a personal trainer. I have always thought it would be so cool to work in a gym. instructor/trainer but that is entirely too intimidating for me. Way to Go Robyn!!!!
P.S. I need to go take a nap now after reading that post....how do you do it????!!!!

Congrats on the new job! So perfect for you!

Props to Austin (isn't that what the cool kids say?)for putting together your vacuum by himself! Way to go!

Love the picture of Ashley in the middle of the pile. hee hee

Sewing class? What sewing class? When did it start? Is it a R.S. group or just something someone started? Did you get a new sewing machine? Can't wait to see the dress.

Wow -- one more saturday to go. Good luck next week!

You are amazing! Glad you made it through the week!

Wow--I was worn out just reading about your busy-ness. I'm impressed you can remember what you've done--my life is just a big blur. I'm super impressed by Austin's vacuum assembly skills since I don't even trust Nate to assemble things around here (j/k Nate, kind of). And...congrats on the job! That is soooo great and perfect for you! I will need to hire you as my trainer to get me back in shape. Seriously.

First of all, CONGRATS on your new job! I am so happy for you! You are going to be great! I wish I could come have you whip me into shape like when we were in Roi-Et.
And, seriously, how are you not having a breakdown? I think I was tired just reading about your busy days.
