This morning I met my friends for the morning run... the first time in 12 days! Yikes. Luckily, we run at a very moderate pace, so I did ok. It felt so good to be out and running! Moving! Breathing and sweating! I have missed it. I will have to take a look at my training schedule and figure out how to ease back into it. I am supposed to run about 24 miles this week, but I don't know if that's going to be happening.
After dropping Olivia at preschool, Ashley and I headed out to Ikea. I had to return some lamps I had bought for our room. It was nice to get out with only ONE child, which does not happen often. She was such a good girl as we walked through the empty store. It was a great time to go to Ikea! Somehow, I ended up leaving without buying a single thing... unprecedented! I don't know how that happened, but there's a first for everything. Oh, we did get a $1 cinnamon roll to share. The smell was too tempting! They definitely tasted like they just came out of a Pillsbury package (not a good thing, in my book) but still fairly tasty. We ran a couple other errands, then headed home for a nap. I was feeling a little social anxiety being out of the house for so long!
Tonight I had Enrichment at church. I was surprised how many people asked how I was feeling and knew that I had been so sick. It was nice to feel like people were concerned. We had a nice dinner, then listened to some speakers about Joseph and Emma Smith. The man who spoke is an actual descendent of Joseph Smith, but was not a member of the LDS church until he was about 18. He was living in Nevada when the missionaries came to his family's home and he ended up being baptized. It was a really amazing story since he didn't even know he was related to Joseph Smith until he was doing a report for American History in high school and his dad showed him a box of stuff related to Joseph Smith's history, which had been handed down from his aunt. To make a long story short, he ended up receiving the priesthood, the first of all Joseph Smith's descendents to do so. He married a member of the church and they had 7 kids. They have done tons of family history work for the family and had a huge pedigree chart there showing all of Joseph Smith's family. He is now producing the new movie about Emma Smith (in theaters next month) and heads up the Historical Society of Joseph Smith, etc etc. Pretty interesting.

welcome back to society! I have to go to Ikea today, but I'm taking all three kids, so I'm jealous of your outing with one. The Ikea cinnamon rolls definitely smell better than they taste, in my opinion--but they get me with that smell every time!
Glad you are out and about again. I was so worried about you. I haven't been to Ikea yet crazy huh. I definitely want to though.
Your enrichment sounds nice. It's amazing how the Lord's work works. That's pretty surprising that he would be the first person from Joseph's line to receive the Priesthood, it makes sense but still surprising.
Good to see you back and getting back into life. A perfect way to do it too...a trip to Ikea. Glad you were able to venture out with just one.
