Claudia's cute Halloween card greeted us last week. It was so fun to feel like I am a part of the whole network happening here in the States. I felt so out of it, down there in the Southern Hemisphere. Thanks Claudia for your card and for welcoming us to the States.
Natasha's package arrived yesterday! It had a cute card (I have an obsession with polka dots!) and a package of caramels so we can make the delicious caramel covered apples like she and her kids made recently. I just love caramel apples and I missed my Grandma Dot's apples this past Halloween. We will have to make some this weekend. Thanks Natasha for sending it.
We also got a cool postcard from our cousin, Landon. Jill and family have been in Southern Cal this week visiting with Claudia and touring all the sights. Austin loved the shark postcard. I thought it was a crack up that Landon wrote the shark is a "viseous pridator" (aka vicious predator). We can't wait for them to get back so we can have some fun cousin time. I think a sleepover is in the works. Get ready for invasion Jill! That includes Ashley too, right? Ha.
Other than Good Mail arriving this week, I had a great night on Thursday night with some of my old Provo bookclub friends (Britney, Heidi, Rebecca, Shauna, and Traci) Chantel, who was visiting from NY, was planning on coming but couldn't b/c she just found out she has gall stones! Ouch. Anyway, we all went out to PF Chang's for dinner and we had such a good time. We met at 7 and didn't leave for home until 11pm. We had Cold Stone after dinner and four of us got Pumpkin Ice Cream (see Jill, it's not just me!) It was so fun to talk and catch up on things. I just love seeing these old friends and can't wait to start hanging out more and going to the bookclub again. Next month is just a potluck Christmas party, but for January it's The Other Boleyn Girl, which I have already read. This is good, however, b/c I will be able to read my Blog Book Club
book without stressing about 2 books! I gotta get reading the History of Love for this month.
Tonight we went to see the Bee Movie with Kaylyn and her two kids. I love that Austin and Olivia are getting to an easier age. It just seems like so long that my kids have been at this young, high-maintenance, difficult age, where every excursion requires so much patience and work. I loved that we got some popcorn, sat down, and they watched the movie! So simple! Ashley was in bed by the time we left the house (6pm) so that was no-stress too. Thank you Mom for letting us do that. It was fun.
Tomorrow there is a Primary activity at church from 10-12. They are doing a Fall Festival this year, as opposed to the usual Christmas breakfast in December. I think it's a great idea. At this time of year people are less busy, less stressed. I think the kids will enjoy it. Then, tomorrow night is Mom's annual dance recital. The kids have LOVED tap dancing with Mom in her exercise/dance room since we arrived. We've seen her practicing alot lately, so we are very excited to see her in action.

So, did you like Bee Movie? It looked good, but I often wonder about movies that are overly-advetised. You'll have to do a review. :D
I have eaten at PF Changs once and it was amazing! There is a restaurant in Bountiful that is the "little bro" to PF Changs (same company). I will have to ask my mom for the name, but it was so good! It was like PF Changs, but more like fast food.
We went to see the Bee Movie too. It wasn't my favorite but I'm with you - glad my kids are old enough to sit down for an entire movie and we can all enjoy! We "snuck" in our own popcorn, Mott's for Tots Juice Boxes, and candy from the dollar store!
You're full swing back into a social life eh? How awesome is that?
I forgot to add that's it's so nice to see that you're getting some good mail. Hopefully now that you're back in the Northern Hemisphere you can participate more often.
hey I was reading this while alexei was around, and LOVED THE SHARK postcard....he said I want one tooo......funny. Glad you liked the card...a bit late to send to Australia.
