Happy Mail and Blessings Abound

This morning I found a package from Jill and the kids on our doorstep! It must have been delivered yesterday. They will be so excited when they get home from school and see good mail for them. Thanks Jill, Landon, and Whitney!

I had other good news this morning when someone came to see my couch and decided to buy it! Yay! I am glad that we don't have to worry about that one. Now, what about the car, washer, fridge, tv table, dvd system? A few more things to go.
I may have sold my stroller and washer to Rebekah (the other counselor in the RS presidency) but she has to get back to me.

OH, that reminds me... I HAVE BEEN RELEASED!!!! I am no longer the 2nd counselor in Relief Society. Yesterday, at the funeral for Bronwyn's son, the counselor in the bishopric (Mike) pulled me aside and said we may as well release you b/c you are so busy and on Sunday the new presidency will be sustained. I was so glad. It felt like a big relief b/c I haven't wanted to slack off just b/c I know that I am leaving but I have been feeling like there is so much on my plate. The funeral was a huge job but it went great. There was tons of food there and it was beautiful, delicious stuff like gorgeous cakes, quiches, sandwiches, fruit plates, muffins, etc. We easily fed over 250 people. It's great when you send out the call for help and people come running! All of the food was donated by members of the ward and stake. Everyone just put their hands together and pitched in. The funeral was very emotional but nice. Also a great opportunity to share the gospel with others b/c so many of Jordan's and Jenna (his sister) friends who attended are not members of the church and most likely would never step foot in a church otherwise. There was a nice feeling there and I am sure they felt it. I had such a good experience being there, helping out, and spending time with people in my ward. I really will miss them. It took me a while to warm up but now that I know them and have seen the good in many of them, especially love our new bishop, it will be sad to go. This Sunday is our last b/c we'll go to a different ward next week when Mom is here.




Anyway, another item of good mail came today- Ashley's passport!!! We booked our flights to the States in faith b/c we did not know exactly what day it would arrive. They told me 2-3 weeks and that was on the 10th. Today is the 23rd and we got it. LESS than 2 weeks. What a blessing.



Just after that arrived, I got a phone call of someone putting in an offer on the car!!! It's a little lower than we would like, but who's complaining? I told her we would think about it and get back to her, but we'd have to be stupid not to take it. It will be great not to stress about that one! She says it's no rush b/c it's for her parents who don't have a car and are used to not driving, so wouldn't that be great if she let us keep it for another 2 weeks until we go? She is very kind and personable and I feel SO SO blessed that this offer has come in.



And can you believe all the pumpkin I have left? I found these cans behind my food storage (that we've been using up the past couple weeks) What a gold mine. I guess I rationed it a little too well. I gotta start baking!

So, I am having a great day!

***EDITED***This update is at 8pm. I baked two pumpkin pies (for Andrew and Mala) and one Pumpkin Spice cake (for our dinner with Don and Elise) today. Subtract one large can and one small can from the stash. What should I make next? Any suggestions?
