I can't believe how fast my Ashley is growing up! This past week she decided to talk. I say that because she has said a few words for quite a while now, like Mom, bath, Dad, dog, shoe, etc. but she hasn't really tried to say other things. We know she understands a lot because if we say "we're leaving" she'll go to the garage door and try and climb into the car or if it's bedtime she'll go get her blanket and her binkie. Well the floodgates opened this past week and it was like she turned into a parrot imitating everything we said from 'yellow' to 'open' to whatever. It's so fun to see her little mind working and how quickly she catches on and understands things. One thing I really love about her is that she always feeds herself. She has insisted on holding the spoon/fork herself for months, and surprisingly does quite well.
She is such a sweet girl, so easygoing, and such a joy to have around. She has a great laugh and loves to wrestle with Austin and Dad, loves to dance with Olivia, and likes to read books with me. When she sits on my lap she walks in front of me then 'reverses' onto my lap. It cracks me up.
I feel really lucky to have such a good girl. She hardly ever throws a tantrum or cries. Only if she's hurt or if she sees Olivia coming to terrorize her (a frequent occurence). This is the only time you will see her hit or get agressive with anyone. She doesn't put up with Olivia at all! She holds her own.
She already loves to try on our shoes (that's my girl!), Olivia's undies, and even the kids' swim caps. I love this one of her and Austin with the caps on. What a great smile.
Can't believe that she'll be going into nursery at church in just two weeks! I can't wait! Since both Jared and I have callings during the 3rd hour it gets a little tricky... but only one more week of that.
She does get into a little trouble now and then.... like the time she found a Hello Kitty stamp that Olivia left in her reach and she decided to eat it!
She loves the beach, loves to swing, slide and play.
I love going into get her in the morning when she wakes up. She reaches up and gives you the best cuddles. When you lay her down at night she just lies down and smiles at you and says "book" since she likes to wake up and read them in her bed. You give her a kiss and walk out of the room and she just rolls over with blankie and goes to sleep. What an angel. She always sleeps through the night unless she is sick or teething. What a blessing. We are so spoiled to have Ashley!

You are spoiled! I'm so jealous that she seems like such a happy and content kid. I'm really struggling with my almost 3 year old, I wish I could siphon some of that easy-going nature off her and give it to him!
What a cutie! I love the picture of her and Austin in the swim caps. You can see her sweet personality in the pictures. How nice that she is going into nursery soon! I think that is a day that every parent looks forward to....I know that we are counting down for Ewan.
What? She's going into nursery already? I can't believe she's that old. That is a happy happy day when they are old enough for nursery!
I've always thought she looks like Lori, so I don't know where Lori's been! :)
I love the stage where their language is just exploding -- something new and fun every day.
I can't believe she's going to nursery already. I keep thinking of her as the new baby! She's so darling, and I'm so happy for you that she's an easygoing and happy baby.
Oh, I'm so happy to get to read all this about sweet Ashley. It helps me to know who she is and gosh, she really is the best little girl anyone could ever have. I'm so glad she can hold her own with you-know-who!
