Well I am certainly nothing close to being a domestic goddess but I do believe in comfort cooking, that's for sure. This past week I purchased this gorgeous book by Nigella and I am v.excited about it. It has so many amazing recipes, many of which challenge my abilities in the kitchen, but that's ok. I am ready to explore, to experiment, to attempt...
Some other books that caught my eye while I was shopping in my favorite book section, cookbooks, were the following:

I will have to let you know how I go with the recipes. There are many that I am anxious to try, among them are Om Ali, apparently it's an Egyptian bread-and-butter pudding (filo pastry, almonds, pistachios, apricots, cream, nutmeg) Yum!!! Also Passionfruit, Marscarpone & Meringue Trifle, and Gooey Chocolate Stack.. Oh, I could go on and on and on...
Is anyone else obsessed with collecting recipes and browsing cookbooks?

I am totally obsessed with cookbooks and recipes of all kinds. I have wanted that book by Nigella, so you'll have to let me know how it is. I'm very intrigued by the stale bread one!
I will have to browse the cookbook section more often. You found some fun ones. I'd like to browse that kid one. I do love to try new recipes. That is my favorite kind of cooking.
I posted about Jack today at this stage - ooh yes it is a very busy and trying age! Glad to know we're both in it - though hopefully Ashley doesn't do some of the antics Jack does.
wow...i am too obsessed with cook books but for me they have to have pictures....although it is funny, i can read a recipie in a magazine and totally go through it visualizing how it is to be made...lately, i have not tried anything really...but you have awaken my domestic goddess.....i know it is somewhere in there.......
That cook book looks divine! Baking is my weakness. Andy doesn't like sweets, so I usually end up eating everything. Not good.
Kudos to you for trying new, challenging recipes. I have always been intimidated by gourmet cook books.
If you find a good recipe, though, you'll have to post it. The one with the phyllo dough sounds awesome.
Thank you so much for your comment Robyn- you have no idea how much I needed that perspective on nursing. I also will keep the reference handy for the other doctor if they still can't tell me anything from my MRI's next week. I am all about referrals and second opinions. Thank you!
The stale bread book looks very interesting- and the kid one. I'm going to have to keep coming back, waiting for a review. I just love recipes.
