More good mail... can it be?! Amy, we FINALLY got your card and gift for Jared today. No more need to worry. He was happy to get more iTunes credit. (He now has $70 of credit between Amy, Lori, and Jill's birthday gifts) Need I even mention that most of this will be spent by me? Ha! So really I should be thanking you, not him. Thanks everyone!
My kids and I had fun choosing postcards to send to our friends around the world, thanks to Rebecca. We are happy to take part in the postcard exchange and look forward to seeing the origin of the postcards we receive. I was surprised at some of the choices- surely Austin will choose the crocodile, I thought. Olivia will choose the koala. Austin will choose the beach photos... hmmm. Not so. I hope that whoever gets them is pleasantly surprised. I tried to get Austin to write them himself but only succeeded once. Oh well. He told me what to write for the others. I wish that we had a penpal thing set up b/c I was thinking, "I want some answers to our questions. I want to know who these kids are and what they do" etc. What fun our kids will have when they see some mail with their name/s on it. I can't wait!
We have been so busy lately. Soccer, swimming, gymnastics, preschool, church, etc. I had to teach RS on Sunday. Just before that, we had a meeting with the Stake President. We got a call Sat. nite saying the Stake Pres. needed to meet with Jared and I on Sunday morning after Sacrament. I was so nervous all morning. What could it be? Why did he need to meet with Jared?
He is now the EQ President which means like 4 new meetings a week! Including one on Sunday at 7:15 am. Every Sunday. There is also a Stake one at 6:45 once a month. Seriously. Who sets a meeting at that time, regularly, no less! Madness, I say. I am trying to be supportive since I know that is what I am supposed to be. I actually am excited for him, but it's hard not to see it as 'more time away from us'. He travels so much I know that it will be a challenge for him to even be everywhere he is supposed to be (he definitely won't always be able to). I hope that this new calling will be a great experience for him. I am sure he will do well. I also hope that it helps him to grow in ways that he needs to grow. Helps him develop his spirit. Helps him to feel the joy of serving others. Helps him to increase his love for others. Whatever the Lord has in store for him.
With that said, we are going to miss our meetings this Sunday b/c we are going to Coffs Harbor. It's a 4 hour drive south of us in New South Wales. Jared has to play in a golf tournament on Friday, and do some other business there. It will be nice to get out of town for a few days and to visit a new place. I looked at the city website and there are quite a few fun things to do with the kids. I think it will be great. I wish it wasn't supposed to rain all weekend, but it's been rainy here so it doesn't matter if we are here in the rain or there in the rain. I also have a mission companion, Jarunee, who lives 9 kilometers south of Coffs. I might just give her a call. We'll see how it goes.

What an influx of good mail, how delightful. I love, love, love having itunes gift cards. I buy songs and tv episodes all the time, it's fantastic.
That's a big calling for Jared, but I'm sure the increased responsibilities will help develop an increased spirituality which will benefit your family. It kind of makes him seem like an adult, what's up with that?

How fun that you get to go on a little get away this weekend. It is always fun to explore a new city and see what restaurants, shops, and sights it has to offer. Congratulations on your husband's new calling. You two both have very time-consuming callings--I'm sure this is because you guys can handle it well!
We need to do a family get away soon. We can't go to far without hopping on a plane though. Have fun on your road trip.

What a calling for Jared. It will be a great experience for him, but hard as he does travel so much. I feared when Adam was called to the EQ presidency, but it hasn't been as time consuming as I had originally thought. It will be a blessing for you all.
