2 weeks to go

Still no luck with pictures here- I don't know what's up with my mom's computer. If anyone knows the trick, please tell me. I add them and it says "Done" but then they don't appear (the coding or the photos)??? I also tried to insert a link and it shows the coding for that but not once I publish the post. I'm clueless.

I can't even start to think about how fast this first week has gone by. I am having so much fun seeing my good friends and playing with family. I am so glad that we were able to come and have this visit.

Tuesday we hung out with Amy and her kids then saw Flushed Away with Mom. That night we stayed home and Ashley kept me up ALL night long. I discovered some nasty residue in her ear and upon visiting the doctor on Wednesday, we found that her eardrum had ruptured! He prescribed some very expensive medicine and ear drops and she is recovering quickly. You would never know (other than Tuesday night) that anything was wrong. She is the best!

Wednesday we had lunch with my good friend Kaylyn and her kids Cole and Belle. Cole is 23 days older than Austin and Belle is 2 months older than Olivia so they all play nicely. We have known them since Austin was 6 months old so it's fun to see how they have grown and changed. Kaylyn has a great scraproom/scrapstore in her bonus room so I was very jealous to see all the good stuff she had up there. After that we went to Runner's Corner in Orem so I could check out new shoes for me, Jared, and Jared's sister Katherine. We all love Mizunos and they are close to $200 in Australia so I will be getting 3 pair while I am here. Next it was a Costco trip with Mom, kids and Lori (who met us there). I found all kinds of DVDs I wanted including Grey's Season 2, Over the Hedge, and Sense and Sensibility for $6.99 - it's one of my all time favorites. We got the kids some pizza there and ran into Jill and Whitney. After spending WAY too much time there, I left with Lori to grab something at Sonic for dinner and we met Jill to see "Stranger Than Fiction" which I loved.

Thursday I was up and out the door with three kids by 8am, something I never enjoy. Mom and I dropped them off at Jill's, met my mum in law at Chili's parking lot and headed to SLC. We went to the SLC temple at 10am, then had lunch at the Joseph Smith Garden Room. After we saw the movie, Joseph Smith the Prophet (be warned- take a box of Kleenex!) It was such a nice day. I feel really blessed to have two wonderful mothers in my life. They are both strong, beautiful, kind, loving and giving people who are great examples to me.

On Friday we hung out at home for the morning then Britney and kids came over for lunch. The kids had a blast playing together and Brit and I chatted for a few hours until she had to go. That evening she was hosting a little get together, along with my other old neighbor, Shauna, in Provo. They invited the girls from the Bookclub, ward, and neighborhood to come chat and hang out since I am in town. It was so great to see the familiar faces and meet all the babies that have been born since I left. I think the ward doubled in the past year! Lots of babies. We hung out at Britney's for a while after that was done and I loaded the kids in the car at 11:30. They went right to sleep and I just tossed them in bed when we got home.

Saturday I went for a nice run through my mom's neighborhood. I was annoyed later to find that it wasn't as far as I thought (here I thought I had great pace/time but really it was just a short run!) It's gorgeous out where they live and so peaceful it's like running on a mountain trail. I had my haircut at Lori's school then later we all took the kids to see Happy Feet at Thanksgiving Point. Jill and kids went to JCW's with us since Randy is out of town.

Whew. Busy week. Can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving. I love seeing the Christmas lights everywhere. I hope the next two weeks is SLOW!

Sounds like you are having a blast w/ family and friends! My "first" runs on a visit to Utah are always the pits. My body isn't used to the elevation, so I usually end up sucking air with my lungs on fire. But, just think of how much faster/further you'll be able to run once you get back to sea level in Australia.

Three weeks sounds like a long trip, but I guess it's not really when you have to cram in so much visiting and shopping. Claudia would advise staying 3 more weeks, and I would concur!

Sad thing is life never travels slow when you're having a good time. It's been good to see you.

I hate the way time seems to be accelerated, especially when you're having a great time, and especially around the holidays. I hope you can put life into slow motion!
