I can't believe it, but Olivia has decided that she is finally ready to give up diapers! I didn't plan on doing it yet with all the stress and changes we've had over the past month or two... especially not the week the baby came home. However, I am not going to argue if this is the right time for her. It was Thursday or Friday when she asked to wear undies. We have humored her quite often with no reward- she just pees in the undies then asks for a new pair- with what seems like no awareness of the whole concept. So our hopes were low. We said sure. This time, though, she actually told us when she had to go! Then again later, and later. All day Friday she stayed dry. We were so happy Jared took her out to McDonald's to reward her. He then promised her that he would take her if she did it again the next day, and she did. I guess a 50 cent ice cream is worth it! Today is Monday and she did it again. Can I assume that we have seen the last of the diapers? We haven't trusted her at night yet, knowing that she can't do it herself if she has to get up during the night. She doesn't have that much control yet. I guess this is as good a time as any since I am not really going out alot with a new baby on my hands (who, by the way, is such a gem and sleeps all the time). I am just ecstatic about getting rid of all those diapers now that I have Ashley going through about 10 a day. Only one child in diapers- YEAH!

How exciting. What a champ for Olivia to decide to do that now. I feared a major set back with her if she was jealous of Ashley. The photo is darling too.
This is awesome Robyn and for it not to have become a battle. Well done. Sometimes its hard to wait but it has apparently paid off for you. I am getting anxious with Megan as she tells she needs to go before or while, but will wait for obvious reasons.
I was pleasantly surprised too. I thought maybe she just realized that Ashley was the baby so she had to be a big girl. But then Diane pointed out that Olivia is a smart girl and she most likely realized that this whole potty thing was getting her a lot of attention- which it has. How can they be so young yet so smart?
Wow, what a nice suprise for you! I hope she keeps it up. It would be wonderful to only have one in diapers. Olivia still seems so little to me!
Just to add to this posting... she went all night last night with no accident in bed! Yeah!!! I am really liking this whole potty trained thing.
