Early Sunday morning the kids got up and started making cards for Dad. They were very excited to do our traditional breakfast in bed for Father's Day. We made him bacon, eggs, hash browns, and strawberries.
He actually requested a bacon sandwich, so he got it on toast. We really need to get a proper tray because it seems this tradition is sticking around and the cookie sheet is getting a little old! Doesn't really look very festive. We also need a special plate- does anyone know where to buy those? We had a red plate when I was growing up and it said "Your special day" around the edges.
Olivia is our little server. She LOVES to be the one to deliver the tray to the honored person in bed. On Mother's Day, after they had served me, she told Austin and Ashley to go get in bed so she could serve them breakfast. I think this is SO sweet, however it grosses me out to think of all that eating in bed! Ick- I want to wash everyone's sheets immediately! But I give her good charity points for being so kind.
Anyway, Jared had a nice breakfast in bed and enjoyed his cards. He also got a massage and was waited on all day. We made him Shepherd's Pie for dinner that evening.

Yes, his allergies have been really bad lately. His left eye was totally bloodshot. I should have mentioned that...
Maybe I can do one of those plates at Color Me Mine or something... but that would mean I'd have to bring creativity along with me and it's in short supply lately.
wow what a pampering....that is soo cool....I wished we would have pampered more....poor Jared with the allergies hope they are better, there is nothing soo miserable.
