Well, a day early and about $20 short, actually. I went to pick up Lori this morning at the airport. I was so excited. I left about 6:20 am to be there just after 7:00. Her flight was supposed to arrive at 7am but she had to go through customs, etc. I walk in about 7:15 and get to the int'l terminal. I wait and wait and wait and wait. She was coming in on Korean Air, so when I saw lots of Asians coming through the doors, I knew I was in the right place. Well about 30 min passes and I am wondering where the heck is she? Finally, the babies and people in wheelchairs start to come through and I am concerned. Where is she? Is everything ok? Did she get on the flight in Korea? Could she call me if something happened. After an hour passed, I walked over to the desk and asked them to check on the flight. I had tried to do that before I left home, but no info was available. They told me that there was no flight from Korea today. Apparently the one I saw was from Japan. Oops. I about had a heart attack. I paid tolls on the roads, 1/2 tank of gas and $10 parking and no LORI!
Apparently the itinerary that she emailed me did not have the local date. It has Korea's date. Now come on, if any of you have flown anywhere, you know that they print the LOCAL time and date. What's with that?! I can't even believe it said July 13 when it's really July 14. So now tomorrow I get to do it all over again. I guess today was a practice run. I got home 3 1/2 hours after I left feeling very disappointed. Ah well, what can you do?

I am sorry but I can't believe it...i was laughing....yes, this has happend to me too! it is sad, but true...all you can do, is just smile (although you don't feel that at that moment...). Hopefully she is probably getting there as we speak. It is soo good that she is comming and visiting. That will make you feel good. Parking and Toll Road...that is just sad, that you have to pay for it and then no results....I am glad that was the reason and not that something happend to Lori so good riddens...tomorrow will be better!
I haven't ever had to pick up any international travelers, but when I had Landon Betsy flew in and Lori went to pick her up at the airport. Apparently they were each in different terminals looking all over for each other (that's was back when you could go to the gates). Betsy was paging Lori, and Lori was calling me at the hospital. It was crazy.
That is so odd that Korean Air didn't put the LOCAl date and time. I used to work for Delta and arrival date/time was ALWAYS local, whethet it was int'l or domestic.

oh, so sad. Besides the expense and inconvenience, I am so sad that you had been anticipating her arrival and were so excited, only to not have her there after all. It will be so sweet when she finally gets there!
Jessie came to visit me in Paris when she was 16. I waited and waited and looked for her. Finally, about an hour later, I realized she was in a different terminal. She was stranded and didn't speak French. She was so close to having a breakdown!
